Department of Sociology
The Aim of the Undergraduate Program
Those who graduated from the Sociology Department:
1. Can use sociological approaches, basic sociological concepts and theories based on various onthological and epistemological assumptions to understand and explain social life.
2. Can design, apply and interpret sociological research projects on social processes, institutions and problems using different social research methods.
3. Can determine social inequalities and problems with causes and results and offer solutions on them.
4. Can analyze the social world by drawing on the concepts developed by other disciplines of the social sciences.
5. Can evaluate the effects and outcomes of social policies, and offer new policies.
6. Respect scientific principles and ethical values.
7. Can use their native language and at least one foreign language effectively to keep up with national and international sociological works and academic activities.
